My dad’s 75th birthday was on Monday, February 22, and I wanted to dedicate this post to him.
Although, my plan was to post it on Monday, the stomach bug thwarted my attempts. Then, due to a few technical difficulties, I couldn’t scan pictures my mom gave me over the weekend until today. So, finally, here’s the post, to say a big “Thank You!” to Dad, also known as Bud.
My dad has been a great inspiration in my life. So, thanks…
- Thanks for always being there.
- Thanks for always extending an ear letting me know that you were interested in listening, even if I didn’t always utilize your ear.
- Thanks for showing me, that even you, are not perfect.
- Thank you for making me truly and fully understand that I can do anything I put my mind to.
- Thank you for setting so many boundaries, as I was growing up {even the ones I hated at the time}.
- Thank you for loving me enough to let me go pretty far away to college, even though I was still really green and had a whole lot to learn.
- Thank you for not blocking me from experiencing life {the good, bad, etc.}.
- Thanks for putting the down payment on my first car {at the age of 19} and making me pay the car payments. That was my first lesson in practicality vs. pretty {it was an expensive lesson…followed by a reposession =D}.
- Thanks to you {and Mom} for always making me feel that I’m special.
- Thanks for being a loving and caring grandfather.
- And, thanks for showing unconditional love, not just to me, but to all of us. You truly have been a great father!
