About
Ok, this is the really boring version of my bio. I’ll be rewriting this soon, but thought it would be a good idea to get something up on the blog in the meantime…
My name is Lynn Lawson.
After graduating from Spelman College and working in the corporate, educational, and freelance settings for 10 years, I began my entrepreneurial pursuit with the launch of a beauty and wellness, brick-and-mortar business.
My first foray into business was an incredible learning experience. I realized my love for speaking with women about goals, purpose, wellness, alternative health concepts, and living a spirit-driven life.
After the close of my first business, I diligently began to search for another business in which I could reach out to women. After much thought and study, I decided to create a multi-faceted company that had the potential to reach women globally.
I launched One Funky Mama Omnimedia (OFMO) in April 2008 as a newsletter for moms, encouraging us {I was speaking to myself, too} to take more time for ourselves. OFMO morphed into a blog and {is also turning into} an events company.
My main focus now is to speak to women about embracing life transitions, especially those which occur mid life {i.e. – mid life crises}. Over the next several years, I would love to speak to thousands of women about tuning into our bodies and spirits in order to heal ourselves physically, spiritually, and emotionally, especially during mid-life.
I’ve long called Atlanta, Georgia home, but my spirit is growing more and more restless about living overseas. Give me a couple of years.
Also, I’m a mom of three.
