Have you ever wondered why moms who stay at home or work from home have a tendency to put on the pounds easier than other women who are not home as much? Well, besides the obvious – easier access to the refrigerator, having to prepare food for the kids (if they’re home with you), and often being less active – there is another reason.
We don’t wear our clothes tight enough. I know this doesn’t seem practical and flies in the face of conventional thought of what a mom is supposed to look like. But, hear us out before you click away.
Just think about it. When we’re around the home, comfort is king. We love our pajamas, workout gear (even when we’re not working out), leggings, sweats, baggy shorts, or anything loose with lots of give. We don’t want anything to make us feel bound up.
But, just imagine if you wore your tightest jeans everyday doing the usual things you do around the house. The premise of this is, if you’re regularly wearing your tight jeans, you won’t have to get the shock of putting them on for an outing only to realize they won’t zip. Oh, the agony!
I’ve been wearing my skinny jeans more and more and I’m able to get back into 3 pairs of jeans that were no longer my friends (ok, one of them I bought too small not knowing I had gone up a size). My next goal is to buy a pair the next size down and work my way into them, too.

Why not give it a try? The immediate benefits are you won’t continue to go up in size and you’ll be more aware of your eating habits. And, no unzipping, if you stuff yourself!
