Since living here in Dallas, Texas, my skin has gone through some serious changes. Coming from Florida, where the humidity is much higher year round, my skin had acclimated (after moving from Atlanta) and had become somewhat oily.
It was a pain at first because I would have to start blotting my face about an hour after I put on my makeup. If I forgot and didn’t blot my face until lunchtime, I would look like I stuck my face in a pan of oil. I tried all sorts of products but my skin just rebelled. Then I read an article about how oily skin didn’t show wrinkles as quickly as dry skin. Hmmm, I suddenly could work with my”dewy” skin.
All was well with my skin until I moved to Texas in January. It was cold (at least to me) coming from Florida at that time of the year. And, while it can get humid here, for the most part it is much, much less humid than Florida. But, that changed to the other extreme this summer. It is sooooo hot and dry – I’ve never experienced anything like this!
This time thoroughly agitated,my skin rebelled. I began to get pimples, dry patches and my skin started flaking. There was no sign of oiliness and my skin began to look “gray” (got that saying from my friend). I changed moisturizer and cleanser (I’m still on the hunt for some that will sooth this savage beast!), but they’re not working.
Ok, my skin wasn't this bad!

However, I did find a wonderful scrub by Neutrogena that has gotten rid of my “gray” look. It’s their Fresh Foaming Scrub and is one of their newer products. It gently exfoliates my skin and leaves me looking fabulous. I can even dare to go without foundation after I’ve used it. Currently, I’m using it 2-3 times a week and my skin just loves it. I follow it up with a rosewater toner,my cocoa butter stick (remember my blog a few weeks ago about it?) on my blemishes and some moisturizer and I’m good to go!
